What is a MIC B injection?
- It is a lipotropic injection containing methionine, inositol, choline, and Vit B12.
- These injections offer many benefits including weight loss by reducing the storage of fat and increasing metabolism, as well as improvement in energy.
Vit B12
- Sometimes called the energy vitamin.
- This water soluble vitamin helps to keep the body’s nerve and blood cells healthy.
- It also helps to prevent a form of anemia that can make you tired and weak.
Methionine
- Is an essential amino acid that plays an important role in metabolism.
Inositol
- Is a vitamin-like natural sugar related to the B vitamin family.
- It helps to metabolize fat and may improve insulin function in the body.
Choline
- Is an essential nutrient that is related to the B vitamins.
- It is responsible for lipid (fat) metabolism and transport and has other jobs in the body related to cell membrane structure and other functions.
*These injections are usually given twice a week

VITAMIN INFUSION
What is a Vitamin Infusion?
- Also known as Myer’s Cocktail, named after the late John Myers, MD, who used iv injections of nutrients to treat many types of chronic conditions.
- It is a combination of several vitamins including Vit C, B12, B6, B1, Magnesium and Calcium.
What happens to the body and how long does the effect last?
- When the nutrients are given through IV they bypass the digestion process and the levels of the nutrients in the bloodstream are temporarily increased.
- The increase in nutrients in the bloodstream will “kick start” the cells in the body to produce more energy.
- Some patients report that their energy boosts last for days or weeks!
Who is a good candidate?

MEDICATION REFILL POLICY
Please plan ahead for medication refills. To obtain a refill, call your pharmacy and request the refill (at least 48-72 hours) ahead of when you need your medication. The pharmacy will then contact WNY Rheumatology to authorize the refill. These requests will be processed during normal business hours (Monday-Friday). Please note that routine follow-up appointments with WNY Rheumatology and blood work are required to obtain medication refills.
CALLBACK PROCEDURE
Please allow 1-2 business days for WNY Rheumatology to return any non-urgent telephone calls. Lab results and x-ray results will be discussed at follow-up appointments unless there is an abnormality, in which case you will receive a call from the provider or nurse.
INSURANCE / REFERRALS
WNY Rheumatology welcomes new patients and accepts most insurances. Please inform us when your insurance changes.
If your insurance requires a referral from your Primary Care Physician, be advised that each patient is responsible to obtain this referral before their scheduled appointment with WNY Rheumatology, or we may need to reschedule the appointment. If a referral has expired, contact your Primary Care Physician for a new renewal before your next appointment with WNY Rheumatology.
